In an August 4, 1971 Double A ball Texas League classic, Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs pitcher Tommy Walker threw a 15-inning no-hitter against the Albuquerque Dodgers, facing just 47 batters — only two more than the minimum. The tension grew with each frame, as Walker later admitted, “It was like sitting on a volcano… you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t feel it.” The masterpiece stands as one of the longest no-hitters in professional baseball history, cementing Walker’s name in the game’s lore.
