On July 27, 1991, Dan Gladden launched a dramatic 3-run homer in the bottom of the 9th to give the Twins a 7-4 victory over the Brewers. The blast was his third consecutive game-winning hit since returning from the disabled list, instantly making him Minnesota’s hottest clutch bat. The homer not only thrilled the Metrodome faithful but also preserved the Twins’ slim hold on the AL West lead. Gladden’s timely heroics proved that sometimes the spark a contender needs comes from a player just back in the lineup.
