Two innings, the same two hitters, and a sequence even veterans couldn’t recall.

After falling behind 4–0 on June 13, 1998, Atlanta erased the deficit in the second when Javier Lopez and Andruw Jones went back-to-back to tie the game. One inning later, they did it again, stunning Montreal with another pair of consecutive homers to seize control. Braves manager Bobby Cox, in professional baseball since 1960, said he’d never seen the same two players go back-to-back in consecutive innings. Atlanta held on for a 9–7 win powered by a sequence for the ages.
