On August 27, 1990, baseball at Toronto’s SkyDome experienced its first “bug delay” when a swarm of aphids descended on the field, halting play for 35 minutes. Umpires requested the roof be closed so the game could continue. The Brewers, trailing before the delay, rallied afterward to beat the Jays 4-2. Nearly eleven years later, almost to the day, bugs again forced the SkyDome roof shut during a Blue Jays–Orioles matchup.
