It was a record-setting night where the leadoff hitters stole the show from the very first pitch.

On August 17, 2006 matchup between the White Sox and Royals at U.S. Cellular Field, Kansas City’s David DeJesus opened the game with a home run, and Chicago’s Pablo Ozuna answered with one of his own leading off the bottom of the first. Emil Brown led off the second for the Royals with another blast, and Jermaine Dye followed suit in the bottom half. It marked the first time ever that four straight half-innings began with a home run. Fans barely had time to sit down between the echoes of the crack of the bat.
